• MaineHousing (MSHA) 
  • Making homeownership more affordable for Maine residents. 
    • Down payment and/or closing cost assistance up to $14,000 (amount is determined by the number of units) 
    • Programs available for first-time homebuyers, first-generation homebuyers, active/retired military personnel, and veterans.

• New Hampshire Housing (NH Housing) 
  • Making homeownership more affordable for New Hampshire residents. 
    • Down payment and/or closing cost assistance up to $25,000 
    • Programs available for first-time homebuyers & first generation homebuyers

• Massachusetts Housing Finance Authority (MassHousing) 
  • Making homeownership more affordable for Massachusetts residents. 
    • Down payment and/or closing cost assistance up to $30,000 
    • Programs available for first-time homebuyers.

Federal Home Loan Bank (FHLB)*

Available in Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Vermont, Connecticut, and Rhode Island.

• Equity Builder Program (EBP)
  • Provides down payment and closing cost assistance up to $25,000 (2025)
  • First-time homebuyer
• Housing Our Workforce (HOW)
  • Provides down payment and closing cost assistance up to $25,000 (2025)
  • Available to first-time homebuyer, or homebuyers that are selling their current primary residence
• Lift Up Homeownership
  • Provides down payment and closing cost assistance up to $50,000 (2025)
  • Available to people of color buying their first home
  • FHLB defines a person of color as Black, American Indian, Alaska Native, Hispanic, Asian, and NativeHawaiian/Pacific Islander.

*Programs are available at certain times of the year. Funds are limited and are on a first come, first serve basis.
