Bangor, ME: The Bangor Savings Bank Foundation is pleased to announce that it has awarded over $90,000 in grants to 29 non-profit organizations across Northern New England. These grants support a wide range of community-focused initiatives, reflecting the Foundation’s ongoing commitment to the region's well-being.

“These non-profit organizations are instrumental in driving economic growth and providing essential services across Northern New England,” said Wendy Durrah, Senior Vice President, Chief of Staff, and the Foundation’s Secretary & Clerk. “The Bangor Savings Bank Foundation is proud to support initiatives that reflect the values of our employees, customers, and the communities we serve.”

Among the recipients are Friends of River Valley in Rumford, ME and Waypoint in Manchester, NH. The $4,000 grant to Friends of River Valley will support outdoor area recreation activities for underserved youth at local schools, providing free downhill and cross country skiing opportunities, and replacing canoe equipment. In addition, funds will provide food, transportation, equipment, and entry fees for local underserved youth to participate in other school club outdoor activities.

The $2,500 grant to Waypoint will help address immediate basic needs for area youth experiencing homelessness including food, transportation, and clothing needs. This grant will further enable Waypoint to continue its mission of creating a safe and supportive environment for vulnerable youth, and ensuring they have the resources they need.
